Lady Gaga seems to be impersonating Shania Twain in her latest single. Below is Lady Gaga’s single “You and I”. Do you think it sounds like a circa 2000 Shania Twain song? Is Lady Gaga trying to cross-over into Country? Could Lady Gaga be successful in Country radio? For the record, Shania Twain’s last mainstream hit was “Forever and For Always” from 2003.

Lady Gaga has successfully brought back the 1980s with her latest single “Edge of Glory”. On the season finale of American Idol, Gaga belted out this saxophone-laced performance with the talents of Clarence Clemons, the saxophonist from Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band.

It is difficult to find a mashup that seamlessly works well together. The following tune is a good example of when two songs can blend together as one. Madonna is going on forty years in the music business and she has constantly reinvented herself to maintain her popularity. However for over the last ten years her music style has remained the same, electronic dance music. In 2008 she released Hard Candy, a musical direction of hip-hop music, but it ushered her lowest selling album to date. However Madonna did score her thirty-seventh top-ten hit with “4 Minutes” which went to number three, breaking her tie with Elvis Presley for the most Top Ten hits on Hot 100 chart.
Has Lady Gaga now officially dethroned Madonna as queen of dance music? Can Madonna change her sound again and top the charts?
