It Happened 50 Years Ago: Herman’s Hermits “I’m Henry VIII, I Am”

Manchester, England-based band Herman’s Hermits have reached number one twice in their career, with both singles topping the chart in 1965. First, in May 1965 “Mrs. Brown You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter” spent three weeks at number one. Then, exactly 50 years ago today, “I’m Henry VIII, I Am” rose to the top spot for a one-week reign.
