Edie Brickell & New Bohemians

Exactly 25 years ago, Dallas-based band Edie Brickell & New Bohemians peaked at number 7 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with “What I Am.”  Not only was the song the band’s first single to hit the Hot 100; it was their only Top 40 hit.  In their only other Hot 100 appearance, the band reached number 48 with their follow-up single, “Circle.”

In addition to her work with the New Bohemians, Brickell has also released solo material and is most recently touring with Steve Martin’s band, the Steep Canyon Rangers.  Brickell also married Paul Simon in 1992.
