Doris Day 1922-2019

As you likely already know, Doris Day passed away on Monday at the age of 97. Day is known for her decades-long dual career acting and singing that stretched from the 1940s to the 1970s. In memory of Day, share with us your favorite memories involving Day’s songs.

Personally, while my favorite Doris Day song is “When I Fall in Love,” my fondest memories involve her 1956 hit “Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be),” which was featured in the Alfred Hitchcock film The Man Who Knew Too Much, which costarred Day alongside Jimmy Stewart. I had a compilation album set with songs for kids that I listened to routinely around the ages of 4 and 5, and one of my favorite songs on that set was “Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be).” Every time I think of that song, I remember listening to my album in the trailer my family lived in at the time.
