British band Tears For Fears scored the only two number one hits of their career with successive singles in 1985. Exactly 30 years ago, the first of these two chart-toppers — “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” — climbed into the number one position for a two-week reign.
To commemorate that anniversary, “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
This song is one my all-time favorites from the 1980s. I also truly enjoyed it being used in the closing sequence of Real Genius. Thanks Ray!
