DEF: Sam Harris “Sugar Don’t Bite”

After winning the inaugural season of the television show Star Search in 1983, Oklahoma-born singer Sam Harris reached Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart twice over a two-year span. The most successful of these two songs — and Harris’ only Top 40 hit — was his first single, “Sugar Don’t Bite,” which on this date in 1984, climbed to a peak position of number 36, where it would spend two weeks. “Sugar Don’t Bite” by Sam Harris is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
