DEF: Phil Collins “A Groovy Kind of Love”
In 1988, Phil Collins took on the title role in the film Buster, which depicted the story of “The Great Train Robbery” criminal gang member Buster Edwards. In addition to starring in the film, Collins contributed two songs to the film’s soundtrack, both of which reached number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. Exactly 30 years ago, the first of those two songs — a remake of The Mindbenders’ “A Groovy Kind of Love” — climbed to number one for a two-week reign. To commemorate that anniversary, “A Groovy Kind of Love” by Phil Collins is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
