British singer Paul Young is most remembered for his rendition of “Everytime You Go Away,” which hit number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart for one week in 1985. “Everytime You Go Away” is one of five Top 40 hits Young has amassed in his career. On this date in 1984, the first of Young’s Top 40 hits, “Come Back And Stay,” reached a peak position of number 22, where it would spend one week.
