In 1982, pop music superstars Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder teamed up for the duet “Ebony and Ivory,” which appeared on McCartney’s Tug of War album. In advance of the album, the song was released as a single, and exactly 35 years ago, it climbed to number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart for a seven-week reign at the top.
