DEF: Linda Ronstadt (Featuring Aaron Neville) “Don’t Know Much”

Tucson, Arizona-born recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Linda Ronstadt has 10 Top 10 hits on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart to her name. Six of those Top 10 hits came in the 1970s, and the remaining four happened in the 1980s. Exactly 25 years ago, as the 1980s came to a close, Ronstadt’s final Top 10 hit, the duet “Don’t Know Much,” was spending its second of two weeks at its peak position of number 2.

While “Don’t Know Much” marked the final Top 10 hit of Ronstadt’s career, for her duet partner, Aaron Neville, the song was his first Top 10 hit since “Tell It Like It Is” reached number 2 in 1967. Building off the revitalized success, Neville hit the Top 10 for a third time in 1991 when “Everybody Plays The Fool” reached number 8.

“Don’t Know Much” by Linda Ronstadt featuring Aaron Neville is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
