DEF: John Fogerty “Centerfield”

Here’s another one for the list of songs you probably thought performed better on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart than it actually did.

John Fogerty‘s “Centerfield” has been a staple at baseball games and in other aspects of popular culture since Fogerty released it in 1985. However, the song failed to make the Top 40. Exactly 30 years ago, “Centerfield” climbed to a peak position of number 44, where it would spend two weeks.

To commemorate that anniversary, John Fogerty’s “Centerfield” is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
