After scoring eight Top 40 hits on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in the late 1970s, New York-based band Foreigner hit the Top 40 eight more times in the 1980s, beginning with “Urgent” in 1981. The song spent four weeks at a peak position of number 4, and on this date in 1981, “Urgent” reached that spot on the chart.
