DEF: David Foster “Love Theme From St. Elmo’s Fire”

Victoria, British Columbia-born David Foster is one of the most successful songwriters and producers in pop music history. The list of artists for whom Foster has written or produced is a who’s who among successful popular music acts. Yet, Foster himself also has a Top 20 hit of his own on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. Foster penned and played the love theme to the film St. Elmo’s Fire, and on this date in 1985, the single for that theme hit a peak position of number 15, where it would spend one week.
