DEF: Band Aid “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”
In 1984, Bob Geldof brought together a group of prominent British and Irish pop music artists under the name Band Aid to record the song “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” in an effort to provide aid for famine in Ethiopia. The song would go on to become one of the 1980s’ most iconic Christmas songs. Exactly 35 years ago, “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” rose to a peak position of number 13.
