Danny Aiello 1933-2019

As you have likely heard, Danny Aiello passed away yesterday at the age of 86. Aiello is most known for his acting career, including notable parts in such films as Do the Right Thing and The Godfather Part II. Meanwhile, he also has a couple connections to music. He released a number of albums, including I Just Wanted to Hear the Words in 2010 and Live from Atlantic City in 2008. His other connection to music is his appearance as the father of Madonna’s character in the video for Madonna’s 1986 hit “Papa Don’t Preach.” In response to the popularity the video and song experienced, Aiello recorded a reply song titled “Papa Wants the Best For You.”
