The David Letterman Show continually features an outstanding line-up of today’s best musicians. Thus it would only be natural to devote an entire online radio station to the music that makes Dave smile.
Listen to the radio station and click through photos of performances from the show. Recently Peter Gabriel performed Live On Letterman with a 46-piece orchestra. The site also features free music downloads from artists like Moby and Wilco.

If you like getting new music like I do, then you’ll love mp3.com’s free song of the day. Recently mp3.com relaunched their website with a new message and offerings including free music. Everyday stop back and download a free music track. Most of the tunes are from emerging artists, however I was pleasantly surprised that some tracks are from recognizably established musicians.

I just stumbled upon this cool Steely Dan mash-up interpretation. The best part is that you can download the entire project for free! I would describe this music as an instrumental tribute to Steely Dan with a hint of electronica.
The website says, “Day Glow Freaks is a collection of 12 songs created entirely from the sampled works of Steely Dan. This homage, built from hundreds of samples of the band’s 82 studio tracks, is the result of a yearlong personal endeavor and is an expression of gratitude for a career of captivating music.”
Looking for some free tunes? Why not kick off your day with some new music? Spinner, part of AOL’s music service, features a mp3 download of the day. Most of the bands you will not know, but not for long!
If you retweet a post for Jack Johnson, you get a free mp3 download off his latest live album.
Just in time for the holidays, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is releasing an updated version of one of their holiday originals. Starting today the song “Dream Child” is available free for download. Happy Holidays!

Have you tried SoundCloud? The website says, “we let you move music fast & easy. The platform takes the daily hassle out of receiving, sending & distributing music for artists, record labels & other music professionals.” If you are a band, you can post your music and if you are music lover you can discover new music. I found some great remixes of DJs looking to share their personal mixes.
