Tired Pony consists of Gary Lightbody (of Snow Patrol), Richard Colburn, Iain Archer, Jacknife Lee, Peter Buck and Scott McCaughey. In January 2010 the band recorded their first album titled “The Place We Ran From”. The album released in the UK on July 12, 2010. It is set to release in the U.S. on September 28th. The video above is the first single titled “Dead American Writers”.
I previewed a few of the songs and now I’m impatiently waiting for the September release. I’m instantly a fan of anything Gary Lightbody creates.
If you’re as upset as I am about the hiatus “The Killers” is on then this will make you feel slightly better. In September, Brandon Flowers is releasing his debut solo album titled “Flamingo”. The first single from the album, “Crossfire” was recently released on the internet. What do you think? I’ve been replaying it all day.
On August 3rd, Rogue Wave will be at the Grog Shop in Cleveland. The Indie Rock Band from Oakland California recently released their fourth album titled “Permalight”.
Their first album, “Out of the Shadow” was released in 2003. My personal favorite “Asleep at Heaven’s Gate” was released September of 2007. It’s one of those albums you can listen to from start to finish day after day.
Don’t miss this show. The Grog Shop is one of the best venues in Cleveland and the tickets are very affordable.
Last month Kate Nash released her second studio album titled “My Best Friend Is You”. In 2008 Kate’s first album “Made of Bricks” was the number one selling album in the UK. She was later named Best Female Artist at the 2008 BRIT Awards.
Some might consider Kate’s lyrics to be offensive. I would consider her music upbeat, truthful and even funny at times.
Do-Wah-Doo is Kate’s latest single.
I’ll argue that this is going to be one of the best albums of 2010. Broken Bells is artist-producer Danger Mouse, and James Mercer who is the lead vocalist from The Shins. “The High Road” is the first single released off of the self titled album which was released on March 9. Since the release date the album is getting a lot of press and mention on social media sites.
Broken Bells is currently on tour promoting the album.
This video has been making it’s way around the internet for a few weeks now. If you haven’t seen it it’s definitely worth watching it. Telephone by Lady Gaga featuring Beyoncé is nine minutes and thirty seconds long. Looks like it has an influence from Quentin Tarantino films in my opinion. Along with some Lady Gaga influence, of course.
Do you have your tickets for the Monster Ball Tour? Lady Gaga will be visiting Cleveland on July 14, 2010.
The frontman of the strokes, Julian Casablancas is currently on a solo tour. Julian will be stopping in Cleveland on Saturday April 3rd. Tickets are still available for $22.00 the day of the show. Casablancas is promoting his solo album titled Phrazes for the Young (inspired by the book of Oscar Wilde ” Phrases and Philosophies for the Use of the Young “)
A couple of weeks ago I finally had the chance to watch “500 Days of Summer”. It’s a great movie and I would definitely recommend it. I’ve always been a fan of Zooey Deschanel but after watching this movie I realized what a beautiful singing voice she has.
A few weeks later I stumbled across the music of “She & Him” and happily noticed the female voice is Zooey Deschanel. I couldn’t believe I was unfamiliar with her official band.
“She & Him” will be stopping Cleveland at the House of Blues on June 10th. Tickets go on sale at Livenation.com later this week.
