25 Years Ago in the Nineties: Don Henley “The Heart Of The Matter”

Don Henley garnered three Top 40 hits off his The End of the Innocence album, starting with the title track, which hit number 8 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in 1989. After that, “The Last Worthless Evening” peaked at number 21 in late 1989, and then in 1990 the album’s third track, “The Heart Of The Matter,” also reached number 21. After spending three weeks at number 22, exactly 25 years ago “The Heart Of The Matter” was climbing into its peak position of number 21, where it would spend one week.
