I saw heard this song on the radio and then discovered that it had over 2 million plays on YouTube. It looks like Bon Jovi is finding country again with a duet with Leann Rimes called “Till We Ain’t Strangers Anymore”. Do you like it?

This weekend, Billy Joel’s daughter, Alexa, was briefly hospitalized following concerns about a possible overdose, possibly related to angst felt over relationships. Assuming that is the case, she gets that angst rightfully. Just listen to songs like “My Life” and “She’s Always a Woman” to hear Billy Joel singing about the same kind of frustration. Of course, “Angry Young Man” and “Pressure” deal with angst in general, while songs like “Allentown” voice working class frustrations.
One of Billy Joel’s more often forgotten but well-written songs is “The Downeaster ‘Alexa,’” which appeared on his Storm Front album. This song, too, voiced frustration, as it took up the plight of fishermen on the North Atlantic coast of the United States. “Alexa” is the name of the boat of the character narrating the song. Of course, Billy named it after his daughter.

I recently caught up with Matt Pallotta, writer, actor and director of the hilarious webisodes The Road to Sundance, and musician Mark Schitlz, to discover how the soundtrack is produced. Mark creates the organic sounds that holds the show together. Watch the interview of Matt and Mark as they discuss what it takes to create the music of The Road to Sundance. Also watch new episodes of The Road to Sundance every Tuesday throughout December.

Last night the Grammy Nomination Concert was on again and I enjoyed it. To be honest, there aren’t many music videos anymore so to see a live performance is great. However I have to ask the question, “Is having a concert at the nomination a spoiler alert?” I mean does having a handful of artists perform at the event give you the impression they’ve already won? It just seemed strange that Black Eyed Peas were nominated a bunch of times and performed.

Since we’ve been listening to The Cure a lot, this week’s sentune is from the group that brought us classics like “Close to Me,” “Never Enough,” and “Lovesong.” Here’s one to get us started:
Just like heaven, pictures of you catch the 13th Friday I’m in love.

I was never the hugest fan of Creed. I really liked their first album, but when they hit it big I fell off the bandwagon. After their breakup in 2004 and few years apart, the group has reunited with a surprisingly decent sounding effort.
What do you rate Creed’s new song 1 out of 10?
