Here is a mashup of Miley Cyrus’s “The Climb” and R. Kelly’s “I Believe I can Fly” performed by J. Jean (vocals, piano, violin) and Kevin Hale (vocals & percussion). I am amazed how well the two songs fit together.

Over the summer Kate Voegele released technically her third album, but her first on a major record label. The title track off the effort was “99 Times” which I thought was catchy, but it didn’t seem to hold radio time. She recently was welcomed home to Cleveland, OH for a Q104′s holiday concert.
“Rock & Roll: (noun) African American slang dating back to the early 20th Century. In the early 1950s, the term came to be used to describe a new form of music, steeped in the blues, rhythm & blues, country and gospel. Today, it refers to a wide variety of popular music — frequently music with an edge and attitude, music with a good beat and — often — loud guitars.”, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
Jack White produced Loretta Lynn’s comeback album a few years ago, providing riveting guitar licks threaded throughout the album. Now the White Stripe is lending a hand to recently inducted Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Artist Wanda Jackson on her next record. I saw Wanda perform last year at the induction ceremony and she can still sing her little heart out. Will this be another award winning project under Jack White’s belt?

Coming to a town near you, it’s the American Idol Channel. I’ve mentioned this concept before however everyday the volume of content to fill the channel becomes more apparent. For example, tonight was the Jennifer Hudson Holiday Special on ABC, another American Idol (AI) graduate gone big time. Jennifer hit it big with her performance in Dream Girls a couple years back and has not been looking back ever since. A couple weeks ago Carrie Underwood had her holiday special. I just heard Danny Gokey on our local Clear Channel Country station pushing his new single. David Archuleta is now on tour in support of his new holiday album.
The AI machine is in full swing, so when will the 24/7 AI channel come to life? I am guessing 2011.

Happy Belated birthday to Ozzy Osbourne who turned 61 the other day! I don’t think Ozzy believes that he has made it this long with his music or his life. Thanks to Sharon Osbourne for keeping him alive. As tribute to Ozzy, tunesmate salutes the classic rocker with a sentune; here is list of Ozzy songs for a hint.. Try taking five song titles of the artist and arrange them in a sentence.
Ozzy Sentune:
No more tears Mr. Crowley, mama I’m coming home back on earth, see you on the other side.

The Almost just did a new version of Little Drummer Boy just in time for the season.
I kind of like it, what do you think?

Amazon has a promotion of 25 day of free holiday music. For 25 days counting down to Christmas, you can download free quality mp3s from their music site. Free tunes so far have been from Lady Gaga to Tori Amos.

Music videos on TV are hard to come by these days because they are either on early or late. However check out Vevo to watch video from the hottest artists like Lady Gaga, Jay-Z. You can even build playlists so you stop back later.
After using the site a few times, I have noticed that it takes a while for it to load. I also noticed that searches don’t seem to work correctly. However all in all, Vevo delivers on videos, so check it out.

For this sentune, rather than finding 5 songs by the same artist, try to string together 5 Christmas song titles to make a sentence. Try carrolling to this one:
Last Christmas, home for the holidays, I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus rockin’ around the Christmas tree up on the housetop.
